Pendulum DCOF Floor Slip Testing
A pendulum slip test is highly recommended for most projects for reliable slip resistance testing results. We can conduct the BS EN 16165, HB 198, AS/NZS 4663, AS 4586, or EN 13036-4 pendulum test to assess a dynamic coefficient of friction (DCOF) for flooring of all types. We usually will recommend the Australian HB 198/AS 4663 pendulum slip resistance test, as it has safety minimum recommendations for each specific flooring situation. For instance, a pool deck will require a different minimum DCOF value than a third-floor lobby or a food court or a sidewalk. The test method (and our report to you) will include these recommendations based on what the intended use of the flooring will be. We only need one sample to conduct a pendulum test, and it needs to be at least 5″x7″ (larger is fine), but we prefer to get three samples in case there are differences between samples. Here is more information on pendulum slip testing.
The charge is $230 per sample. Turnaround time for laboratory testing is usually 2-3 days. Here is a sample of the report you will receive via email for a pendulum HB198 test. You can pay by credit card, Paypal, send a check with your sample, or wire transfer. We need to know the name of the client (for the purpose of the report), how you would like the sample named, and we need an email address to send the report to. Your report will be certified and stamped by a registered Professional Engineer. You can also pay for the test online by clicking the “Pay Now” button below, and then just send the info along with your samples to:
