The BOT-3000 (Binary Output Tribometer) can measure both static and dynamic coefficient of floor friction on a variety of test sliders in both wet and dry conditions. The BOT-3000 provides a printed record of test parameters and results which can strengthen courtroom credibility. Available with sliders of Neolite, SBR, Four S, TRL, leather and hosiery. The BOT-3000 conforms to American National Standard B101.1, "Test Method for Measuring Wet SCOF of Common Hard-Surfaced Floor Materials". It also conforms to ANSI B101.3, which measures dynamic coefficient of friction.

The optional digital data port kit stores results of the last 200 test runes for downloading to a PC. This is helpful in making a large number of tests without stopping to print out the results on the BOT-3000's paper tape each time. (You can still print the thermal tape while the data are in storage.)

Dr. Jens Sebald of the University of Wuppertal (Germany) tested the BOT-3000 dynamic coefficient of friction against traction of actual walking humans, with 72 test points including 12 surfaces, two different lubricants, and three shoe bottom materials. The correlation coefficient of 0.93 with the BOT-3000 proved excellent correlation. This is the most thorough and close correlation of measured human traction with any available tribometer. The BOT-3000 has also been successful in correlating with human traction tests using the procedure in ASTM F2508-11, "Standard Practice for Validation and Calibration of Walkway Tribometers Using Reference Surfaces."

The normal warranty period is one year from date of purchase, parts and labor included, excluding batteries, tires, and sensors.
